Umi hotel group expands into Russia

BY Simon

umi hotels, the British luxury budget hotel group are expanding their portfolio with a third property in central Moscow.

Following the success of umi London and umi Brighton, the company has entered into a partnership agreement with the owners of the currently ten-bedroom Petrovka Loft Hotel, Moscow. The three private investors were seeking partners to help them move the business forward and Steve Lowy, Owner and Managing Director of umi hotels, BETA and STAYWYSE Director, had exactly the right credentials.

The Petrovka Loft will keep its name but will have a new logo and new website live before Christmas and then be expanded into a sixty-four bedroom property including trademark umi facilities and service levels by 2011.

Owner Steve Lowy said “it’s a new challenge for me and an exciting addition to the umi hotel group. I am looking forward to seeing this franchise grow into a thriving part of the Moscow tourist scene.” He added, “a hotel with value accommodation rates is sorely needed in a city that is renowned for being an expensive destination. It is a great opportunity for umi and hopefully it will open doors in other gateway cities across Europe.”

umi hotels like to do things a bit differently and have established themselves as budget hotels with a twist by offering 5* service at 3* prices. With a concierge service and breakfast served until midday, guests won’t be disappointed with their bargain accommodation. Umi also works closely with various educational hospitality organisations to give young people in the industry a chance to shine.

Bed, breakfast and top service, for just £1

BY Simon

umi hotels are participating in the 2010 January sales by offering hotel rooms for only £1 +VAT each and there’s no catch.
umi Brighton and umi London are budget hotels with a touch of luxury. With services including a concierge, 24hr bar and breakfast served until midday, the 3* hotel group aims to exceed its guests’ expectations. During January, each of the two hotels has one room per day that can be booked at the £1 rate, inclusive of breakfast. This means there are 62 rooms available in total at this bargain price and it’s first come, first served.

There’s also a sale for business guests. Visitors to the umi website can submit their email address for a chance to rent a conference room for £1 +VAT per person, inclusive of a light lunch. …dates? room hire duration?

umi Owner Steve Lowy said “we ran a similar promotion last year and it was incredibly successful – the sale gives us a chance to introduce umi to new customers and helps both guests and staff beat those January blues”.

£1 rooms can be booked via www.umihotels.com or by calling umi Brighton or umi London directly but they are sure to sell out very fast, so be quick.
